While most people are busy talking about the new Porsche Macan and what that pint-sized SUV is capable of, Porsche realizes that the Cayenne is still a very important part of their lineup and they have been hard at work revising it and providing new upgrades and options to the 2015 Cayenne.
Porsche has upgraded the Cayenne dramatically by improving the looks of the vehicle as well as the utility. Both the front and rear end of the vehicle has new styling cues. It’s equipped with an all-new hood and front bumper fenders. Air fins have been added to the sides of the nose to provide air into the intercoolers allowing the vehicle to remain cool more effectively.
The Cayenne now comes standard with Bi-Xenon headlamps as well as daytime running LEDs. The taillights have been enhanced and the exhaust pipes are modified with a more curved appearance. When you climb inside the Cayenne it’s easy to see that the steering wheel has been upgraded with a sportier looking version and the rear seats have been improved noticeably. You also now have the option of getting ventilated rear seats.
The improved air flow into the engine compartment allows the Cayenne to run cooler and more effectively than before.
Four Engine Choices
Porsche is now offering four different engine options for the Cayenne giving users plenty to choose from when they purchase one of the luxury SUVs. It doesn’t matter if you want a hybrid, a diesel model or a standard or high-performance gasoline-only model, the Cayenne comes in each of those flavors, and it pulls them all off nicely.
The Cayenne Diesel
The Cayenne diesel is now the base Cayenne being offered, and it comes with a 3.0 liter turbo diesel engine that creates a total of 240 HP and enough torque to make it exciting to drive for the lowest model Cayenne on offer.
The Cayenne S is the base gasoline model of the Cayenne, and it’s sure to be one of the more popular version of the vehicle. It’s fitted with a 3.6 liter V6 engine that offers 420 HP and 406 lb.-ft. of torque overall.
The Cayenne S E-Hybrid
Porsche has taken the powertrain used on the Panamera S E-Hybrid and adapted it for use on their Cayenne S E-Hybrid. This is the first luxury SUV with plug-in Hybrid technology.
The Cayenne Turbo option provides you with the most power without worrying about the fuel efficiency or the price of the vehicle. This SUV is packed with a 4.8 liter V8 that creates 520 HP and 553 lb.-ft. of torque.
The Cayenne was the first SUV offered by Porsche and it’s now one of their most popular vehicles by far. The 2015 version of the SUV comes with enough changes for current Cayenne owners to justify the upgrade, and buyers looking to get a Cayenne for the first time are getting more than ever before.
