Expect to be a part of tens of thousands of enthusiasts, hundreds of Porsches and some of the most iconic racing seen on Laguna Seca. Plus, you get to rub shoulders with people you have only heard of – race drivers, company executives, engineers, and designers.
Think of it as the ultimate weekend for anyone who loves Porsche.

Our motorsports heritage is about to start a new chapter.
Imagine open-wheel racing with cars that look like Formula 1, but are quieter. Yet, these cars have instant torque and do not use any fuel source. They run simply on pure electricity.
This is Formula E.
Since 2014, the FIA has sanctioned this electrically-charged form of racing. It is an open-wheel format with a specific motor and gearbox format that every manufacturer must follow. It is also the marriage of traditional automobile manufacturers, technology firms and a new level of interactivity. Fans get into he race through an app that actually helps drivers and cars race better.
Races are run on street courses and are scheduled in-between Formula 1 dates. You catch the action in Mexico City on March 3, 2018, with scheduled races coming to New York City and Montreal later next year.
Porsche announced that it will participate in this pure electric form of motorsport starting in 2019. No further details as to the vehicle itself, but it will participate in a growing sport alongside other rivals involved in Formula E.
While Porsche will no longer compete in the LMP1 class in the World Endurance Championship, they will continue to compete in the GT classes in both the WEC and IMSA with our 911 RSR program.
Porsche’s tradition of racing continues. More so now as the future becomes more electric.
The Porsche Cayenne was a radical idea when it was first released that upset a bunch of people. It’s pretty amazing that the vehicle is about to be on its third generation, but that’s the case and the Cayenne is just about to be debuted. According to Porsche the 2019 version of the Cayenne is set to debut on August 29th. That’s very soon, and that means we’ll all know exactly what the automaker has planned for its large SUV soon enough.
Multiple Engines are Almost Guaranteed
There’s no firm evidence about this just yet, but we’re pretty certain the 2019 Cayenne will come with multiple engine options starting at a V6 and working its way upward. Serious buyers will probably opt for the potent V8 options, and we may see a few different turbocharged engine options in this model year. Who knows, we could see something as crazy as a turbo-four in the Cayenne which would make it pretty darned efficient, but how much power would something like that have to offer?

No matter what Porsche has planned for the 2019 Cayenne, we’ll all know soon enough. By the end of August the Cayenne is going to debut and we’ll all be able to see. It’s going to be shown off at the Frankfurt Motor show, so keep a close eye on the news and the videos floating around the internet. Soon enough you’ll be able to look at the next model year of the Cayenne, you’ll see just how the large SUV is evolving and you’ll know whether or not it’s going to be the vehicle for you.
Porsche is constantly innovating and we expect to see some pretty drastic changes when it comes to the latest Cayenne. It could be one of the best model years for the Cayenne, so stay tuned and watch closely to see just what Porsche has in store for us all.
Porsche recently became the very first automaker to offer wheels composed of braided carbon fiber. These lightweight wheels will have the characteristic carbon-fiber look that the material is well-known for, and they should hold up and perform as expected with such materials involved. You’ll end up with hyper-lightweight wheels that are tough as nails and dependable over time as well. The wheels aren’t set to be issued on every Porsche model though. In fact, they’ll only be available on one model, The 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series.
What the Wheels offer
The alloy wheels used on the Porsche 911 Turbo S are made from lightweight alloys and already offer excellent performance, but the braided carbon fiber wheels are on another level. They’re about 20 percent lighter and they’re around 20 percent stronger. Those are huge increases that serious drivers will care about.
These wheels have a lower unsprung weight and they trail lines more effectively and stand up to lateral and longitudinal forces more capably. That means that the wheels will help you get better handling and performance out of your Porsche, which in the end means a better drive feel overall.
Performance Isn’t Cheap
These high performance wheels will cost you though. They’re set to release for 10,773 GBP, a pretty considerable investment for a set of wheels. If you really want the best performance out of your Porsche they’re worth the investment, or if you just like the looks of the wheels, but most drivers aren’t going to want to spend that kind of money just for a slight performance and handling increase. It’s still cool that the wheels are offered at all though, and carbon fiber braided wheels are sure to become a more common offering from Porsche in the future.
Creating the Wheels
The wheels are made from two components, carbon fiber fabric and a rigid braided carbon fiber rim itself. The fabric is composed of 200 different components woven together to create one solid unit.
The wheels are really cool looking, and they’re certainly something that serious high end Porsche owners are going to be interested in. If you have the money to buy the limited edition of the Turbo S, these wheels could be just the thing to bring your ride to another level altogether.
Porsche took a whole lot of criticism when it first came out with its Panamera sports car. Porsche fans weren’t fond of it’s odd front end or the massive proportions, but the sports car has come a long way since then. It still doesn’t hold the same level of prestige as the 911 lineup does, but when it comes to four door sedans, there are few vehicles on the market that can stand up to the sheer capabilities put forward by the Porsche Panamera.
Plenty of Variants
Whether you want a hybrid powertrain, a turbocharged monster of an engine, a standard model or a mid-level power Panamera, there are options for you to choose from. Porsche presents you with a long list of trim levels and power points in the 2018 Panamera, making it easy to get exactly the right type of vehicle for your needs.
The amount of power you get with Porsche’s sedan depends on the variant that you opt for. The base model sports a very healthy 330 HP thanks to its twin-turbo V6 engine, but if that’s not enough for you, you can step it all the way up to 540 HP on the Panamera Turbo with a more potent V8 engine. Of course there are options in between those two extremes as well, letting you fine tune exactly how much power you’re comfortable with.
The Porsche Panamera has been engineered to an impressive level to corner, brake and handle very well at top speeds. That means you can push the vehicle well past your comfort zone while on the track, without maximizing the capabilities of the car itself. It’s meant for street driving, but this powerful sedan holds its own on the track and isn’t shy about taking on tough turns, and all the other elements of a standard street course. Take it out to the track and you’ll be burning through sets of tires like nobody’s business while falling in love with Porsche’s longest car.
The Panamera comes with all-wheel drive, and the drive system offer the perfect balance of handling mechanics. Whether you’re dishing out understeer or oversteer, the car wards them off with ease, leaving you with precision controls and a truly enjoyable driving experience overall. If you’re looking for a car that can carry around the family, that’s a true pleasure to drive, and also good enough to take to the track on the weekends, the 2018 Panamera is the best four-door sedan for the job. It’s a blast to drive, it’s elegant and finely designed, and it handles superbly, no matter what you throw at it. What more could you ask for?
A race-bred Porsche is something of a work of art. It holds majesty whenever it hits the track. It does not need to show its resume – the many overall and class wins Porsche achieved in its decades of racing. It will only show its competitors its rear wing.
The new Porsche 911 GT2 RS is the latest edition in a long history of track-bred production cars.
Unlike any of our historic performance Porsches, we had to present it in a very different way. At the recent E3 conference here in L.A., where game consoles and games are presented – so was this high performance, race-bred version of the GT2 line. Microsoft helped Porsche bring it out – along with the upcoming Forza Motorsport 7 game.
Unlike a gaming console and its peripherals, the GT2 RS will have a real 3.8 liter horizontally-opposed six-cylinder engine with twin turbochargers and rear wheel drive. There has not been any confirmation of gearbox, horsepower and performance figures but the number 700 keeps making the rumor mill!

The Porsche 911 Turbo Exclusive Series is a slightly more powerful version of the Turbo with over 600 HP, and it comes with exclusive access to a beautiful watch that owners will no doubt be happy to show off.
This beautiful Porsche watch comes at a steep price of approximately $13,000 and it’s only aviaalble to owners of the exclusive special edition Porsche 911 Turbo vehicle, meaning that at most 500 people will be walking around with it on their wrists. It’s a beautiful timepiece that’s designed to match the gold Porsche car nicely. It shows off a series of carbon fiber accents, tosses in a nice splash of brilliant gold, or whatever color that you decide to choose for the sports car.
The watch is composed of titanium that’s been coated in a black carbide material for a nice smooth feel and top-end durability. The watch features a COSC-certified chronometer and a sapphire case back that positively shines in the light. It’s a high end product that will undoubtedly please a top-tier Porsche owner, and the watch even comes with an advanced flyback feature designed to time laps around a race track. The watch has obvious appeal and we understand why Porsche would make it just as exclusive as its special edition car, but the car itself has a lot to offer as well, and buyers are probably just as interested in that. With over 600 HP this Porsche Turbo can really fly around the track. It manages 0 to 60 MPH in just 2.8 seconds and looks beautiful inside and out. The sports car is designed for maximum performance, but it’s also built to turn heads and really stand out. It comes with that signature sleek and sexy 911 look but features cool accents like the carbon fiber trim throughout the body and the unique gold paint job that you won’t find on any other 911. Porsche went all out to deliver a fully custom vehicle when you opt for the Select series, and the car is going to be a worthwhile purchase for buyers looking for something a bit more exclusive and exciting.
The Porsche watch is going to be something that only a few people can show off, and that’s the genius of the automaker. It will make buyers want them even more, and should help push through a few more car sales.
When the original Cayenne was released in back in ’03 there was screaming in the streets. 911 owners all over the country were infuriated that their brand of choice was being tainted, and that Porsche would stoop so low as to offer an SUV to customers. They didn’t think about how insanely profitable the Cayenne would be for Porsche or how much money it would allow the automaker to put toward development of new sicker cars like the latest special edition 911 Turbo S creations, but they certainly expressed their outrage. They did so for years, even after the market began to get used to the high-end SUV, and then the Panamera came out. This abomination of a vehicle was like a stretched out 911 and nobody heard a peep from the Porsche purists. Perhaps it was because the Cayenne already conditioned them to different vehicles, or maybe a stretched car just isn’t as bad as an SUV. Either way, the Panamera has been a successful vehicle ever since it’s release, and the 2018 Panamera 4S builds on what was good about the first model, while making it much, much better.
The original Panamera has an odd roofline that looked out of place on a Porsche. That’s not the case any longer with the 2018 Panamera. It has a sloping roofline that makes it look like a longer 911 and it’s actually very attractive to look at.
No this Panamera isn’t pushing 700 HP like the new 911 Turbo is, but the 4S offers 0-60 times in just 4.0 seconds thanks to the powerful twin-turbo 2.9 liter V-6 with a total of 440 HP and 405 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s a real powerhouse that manages top torque at less than 2,000 RPM and it keeps providing the power up through 5,500 RPMs giving it very satisfying performance characteristics. When you decide to spend a bit extra to toss the Sports Chrono package on the Panamera 4S you’ll enjoy a top speed of 179 MPH and a car that doesn’t redline until 6,800 RPM. It’s a beat of a machine and there’s no doubt that it would be a fun track car as well, even with its longer proportions.
One downside that some people will find with the 2018 Panamera 4S is the lack of a manual clutch. It only comes with a highly capable 8-speed PDK transmission, which is ideal for performance and smooth operation, but not so ideal when you want the feel of a real manual transmission. It does come outfitted with a set of paddle shifters though, giving you some control over the smooth-as-silk transmission that’s a real pleasure to drive around.
This car looks beautiful, it handles admirably and it comes equipped with all the features and power that you would expect of a capable Porsche vehicle. That’s exactly why it’s going to sell well for Porsche and why so many executives and high-end car buyers will want one.
For most of us the Porsche 911 Turbo S sports car is the ultimate exclusive vehicle. It shows off supreme class and does so in a top-end high performance vehicle that’s ready to take off on the tracks. It’s not the most exclusive Porsche that you can purchase though, and there’s actually a golden special edition version of the Turbo S that’s more exclusive, more powerful and more capable than the original. That’s right, there is a more expensive, nicer looking and more exciting Turbo 911 and it’s worth taking a look at even if you can’t afford that quarter of a million dollar price tag it comes with.
It’s Darned Fast
The special edition Porsche Turbo S packs more power than the standard turbo with a whopping 607 HP allowing it to go from 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds and to make a trip to 124 MPH in just 9.6 seconds. The car is slightly faster than the already lightning quick Turbo S, with a 0-60 acceleration time that’s .3 seconds faster. It can also impressively make the climb all the way to 205 MPH, something that you’ll probably only ever achieve while out on a track.
It’s a Gold Porsche
The Turbo S Exclusive Series certainly stands out when looking at it from the outside because it appears to be made from solid gold. That’s right, Porsche decided to give the sports car a Gold-Yellow metallic paint that stands out no matter where you go. That bright vibrant yellow is accented nicely by carbon fiber additions at the trunk, the roof, the side skirts of the vehicle, as well as the rear wing and tailpipes. Sure you could get the special edition Porsche in a few other color options as well, but we suspect that most people will opt for the exclusive gold look to help it stand out. After all, who doesn’t want to look like they’re riding around in a solid gold Porsche?
An Interior That Stands Apart
Just like the exterior of this one-off Turbo Porsche, the inside of the sports car stands out as well. It comes with sports seats that are accented with Gold Yellow metallic stripes and black stitching, just like the contrasting colors on the outside. You’ll witness true luxury when looking at the carbon fiber headliner that’s accented by actual copper stitching that you just don’t see anywhere else.
An Executive Price Tag
So what will you be paying for this decidedly unique and exciting sports car that you just aren’t going to see anywhere else? A whopping $257,500. That’s nearly $70,000 over the standard Turbo S, and that’s not even including the added $6000+ luggage set you can get if you want to match your car while traveling around the country showing it off.
Just 500 of these unique Porsche vehicles are to be sold, and our guess is that they’ll go faster than you expect.
Mike Sullivan has been racing since his teens getting his adrenaline fix on the backs of dirt bikes, but it wasn’t until 2014 that he decided to give Porsche racing a try. After all, they say that racing your brand is an excellent way to connect with it on another level, and that’s absolutely true according to Sullivan. He teamed up with Carl Tofflemire, the Porsche sales manager at LAcarGuy at the time, and they began racing vintage Porsches together.
The moment that Porsche came out with the Cayman GT4 Clubsport racer back in 2015, Sullivan snapped up two of them with a price tag of about $200,000 each. That’s when he decided they were going to take part in more serious races, they would enter the 2016 Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy USA series of races.
At the start of the series Sullivan decided to film the whole thing, and to his amazement the videos began getting some serious views. Within the first year of release his series had more than 180,000 views to his astonishment, and both drivers did better than expected with third place finishes in their categories.
It Just Made Sense to Create a Video Series
With nearly $20,000 going into each race, it only made sense for Sullivan to use all the racing footage to help promote his brand and bring more attention to Porsche South Bay. LAcarGUY has an in-house video department that’s responsible for creating videos and promoting them on social media, and the team worked hard to create the Behind the Wheel: GT4 Weekend Warriors series showing off everything that occurred during those 2016 races. The videos are all available at the porschesouthbay.com website.
The series had a production budget of about $50,000 with an additional $15,000 dedicated to social media marketing. The racing series was good business for the store though, and many of the racers featured in the video other than Sullivan and Tofflemire were actually customers that purchased their vehicles at the store as well. Nearly 10 vehicles were sold to racers in the series in 2015 and 2016.
Expanding the Store
Sullivan’s foray into more serious Porsche racing occurred at the same time that his old Porsche store was being improved upon with an all-new store in Hawthorne California. The $28 million construction is three times the size of the old store, and makes a real effort to show off the racing heritage of Porsche, with displays of some of Sullivan’s vintage race cars for customers to see upon entering the building.
Not only does the new store offer more space, more inventory and a richer presentation platform for the vehicles, but it’s right down the road from the Porsche Experience Center that promises to draw in interested buyers from all over the world.
Sullivan sees a real opportunity to expand his brand further with the racing and the release of the new store. He understands that it’s a chance to broaden his customer base and take things to a more national level. He wants to become the Porsche guy of more people around the country, and with more than 180,000 views on his racing series that seems like a strong possibility.
